Downtown Atlanta Joins the Atlanta Bike Challenge
September 26, 2019
Cooler fall weather makes tackling an alternative commute--one that reduces roadway congestion and emissions--feel all the more doable. And in October, you can opt to log your bike rides for the chance to win cool prizes.
Atlanta Bike Challenge
Downtown Connects is partnering with Georgia Commute Options to promote the Atlanta Bike Challenge, aka "Biketober," a fun and free competition to encourage you, your friends, family and colleagues to experience firsthand the joys and benefits of riding a bike.
Participating is easy and at no cost--all you have to do is register, ride your bike, log your rides, and earn points. You'll qualify for fun prizes, like gift cards and bike swag, and there will be two chances to win an Edison Electric Bike.
Downtown Connects Biketober Events
Downtown Connects is planning two Downtown events in October to help you get into--and stay in--the Biketober spirit.
First, you're invited to attend a bike commuters Biketober Kickoff Breakfast at Condesa Coffee on Thursday, October 3. If you're hoping to join a Biketober team (though you can participate as an individual, too), this is a great opportunity to meet fellow cyclists!
Then, on October 16, ride to our Bike-In Screening of The Goonies in Woodruff Park. The event is free to attend and will feature a complimentary bike valet. Plus, our friends from the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition will host a free City Cycling Class before the movie begins.
