In the season of giving, we've rounded up a few spots where you can find Atlanta-centric and "only in Downtown" items that make wonderful gifts for friends, family, and coworkers. Thanks for supporting small businesses in our neighborhood!
A local tea company nestled inside the Sweet Auburn Curb Market, just add honey specializes in "fresh, fun, and sophisticated flavors" of tea, as well as tea accessories. You can shop online, but an in-person visit is ideal for sampling and grabbing a cuppa while you shop.
You may know Miss D for her famous Southern hospitality (and hugs!), and if you haven't yet tried her popcorn and New Orleans-style pralines, you are in for an extra treat. Our personal favorite is the "triple" popcorn (butter, cheese, and caramel on every piece!), and you can also pick from flavors like sour apple and cotton candy.
This new small business on Auburn Avenue specializes in rare black literature and history. Peruse the collections and enjoy turning pages in this reading room from Thursday-Sunday each week. Read more about For Keeps in this Atlanta magazine article.
In addition to exciting newsroom tours and great places to pop in for a bite to eat, CNN Center is also home to shops where you can buy Atlanta-centric swag at three different storefronts: CNN Store, Braves Clubhouse Store, and It's About Atlanta. (And tickets to a Studio Tour make for a great gift, too!)
Walter Strauss passed away earlier this year, but his legacy lives on at this Downtown Atlanta mainstay, which remains a beacon in sneaker culture. Stop here for a gift for the sneakerhead in your life. You never know who you might see wandering through the shop.
The Hub at Peachtree Center has seemingly endless dining and retail options. Looking for a fun stocking stuffer? Pop into Socks n' Socks for men's, women's, and kid's socks in a variety of fun patterns and colors.
Focusing on offering "something for everyone" in their inventory, Wine Shoe - tucked over in Castleberry Hill - offers wines for every taste and budget. Give the gift of a bottle, a class, or even a monthly Wine Club membership.
Peachtree Center's Green Market pops up for a brief holiday return on Thursday, December 13. Stop by for fresh goods from local vendors and pieces crafted by local artisans from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
